TOP 10 FEBRURAY HALF TERM ACTIVITIES IN WINDSOR

While it’s always worth praying for sunshine, it’s also wise to plan some indoor activities to keep the kids entertained whatever the weather. Explore our top 10 ideas for February half term activities in Windsor and the surrounding area.

Top 10 activities for a wet half term in and around Windsor

It’s looking like we’re in for a wet half term. Fear not, the sunshine will return soon! We’ve put together a top 10 selection of outdoor and indoor activities in Windsor and the surrounding area that will keep the kids entertained!

Make a splash on Windsor Duck Tours

Ok we might be a little biased here… If you’re looking for an activity your kids will not stop talking about, then we have the answer. Windsor Duck Tours is a unique, 60 minute road & river tour that captivates both young and old. The fascination of a bus that floats will keep the children easily entertained for the whole trip, and we’d even dare to say you’ll enjoy it too! We recommend the Swan Splash tour for children as you spend more time on the River – which they seem to love!

Norden Farm’s Half Term Events

The team at Norden Farm have curated a whole week of activities. Beginning on Monday with “Little Grimm Tales”, perfect for little ones – watch the trailer here

Tuesday sees a performance more suited to all ages. Strings Concertini with String Fever, perform using a range of electric instruments. While the kids dance and sing you can put your feet up and chill out on the bean bags! Not one to miss!

There are plenty of other great events on at Norden Farm, check out the rest of their half term schedule here

Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate

Newly opened in Windsor is the family-run Dr. Chocs Chocolate Factory! Need we say anymore? They run Chocolate making workshops (2 people plus) where you can learn how chocolate is made and create your own bar!

Try an Escape Experience

Escape rooms are all the craze right now, and a perfect family activity. At Escape Experience Windsor you can pick from three different themes, Crown Jewel Heist, Area 51, Caved In. They get very busy during half term so booking in advance is a must.

Worried about locked doors? Unlike other escape rooms, in the Crown Jewel Heist room you won’t be locked in, which is why it’s great for first-time Escapees! It’s also great for kids. Good luck!

Go For A Bounce

Prize your children away from their screens and onto Jump In’s trampolines. Located in Slough, Jump In now provide a whole host of activities, from Super Sonic challenges to pizza master class sessions, to soft play, “Jump & Play” for the little ones. Check out Jump In’s website for more details.

A New Event At Legoland

LEGOLAND Windsor are hosting a brand new event! During Brick Week, there will be special brick building activities, over 20 awesome rides and attraction to make use of, and you can even meet some of the Legoland characters! *This is a special ticketed event so make sure to grab some tickets before you go.

Swim at Coral Reef

After it’s £13 million renovation Coral Reef now provides the perfect combination of exercise, excitement and exploration. Make the most of the wet weather and head down for a swim with the kids. There is no doubt they’ll come away smiling (and hopefully tired too)!

Visit Windsor Castle.. and the swans

This one is recommended for the older kids. It might seem an obvious choice in Windsor, but so many people have not visited the castle. It’s the largest and oldest inhabited castle in the world! If this is your type of thing then we recommend you allocate 2-3 hours to have a “proper” look. We highly recommend booking tickets ahead of time as you can skip the queue!

If history isn’t your thing, then why not take a stroll along the River Thames and say hello to the local swans. 10 points if you can count them all!

Meet Some Awesome Animals

This is a great chance to meet and learn about some of the wild and wacky animals we normally only get to view on BBC documentaries. One World Animals are located in Bracknell, and this event will run on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of the half term week. Some shows are already sold out so make sure to book soon!

Go out for Lunch/Dinner

Sometimes it’s nice not to have to worry about who’s cooking. As a local family run business we have fantastic knowledge of where to eat. If you are fancy an Italian evening, why not check out the family-run Sebastian’s. The Duchess of Cambridge have some of the most friendly staff in Windsor, plus great tasty food. Looking for something by the river, we recommend The Boatman Windsor, or a view of Windsor Castle, check out the Royal Windsor!
